Today, June 24th, I am heading off to Buenos Aires, Argentina to spend four weeks at Proyecto ‘Ace, an internationally renowned artist’s residency program. Through a combination of academic research and conversations with fellow artists and local residents, I will create a series of prints that reflect on the human role in the history and future of the climate. The culmination of my time at Proyecto ‘Ace will be a three-week gallery exhibition in Buenos Aires of the work created during the residency. I will also be showing the work in the fall of 2017 at the University of Connecticut. As an emerging artist, I am at the stage in my career where this opportunity will provide me a step on the path toward recognition as a serious and accomplished artist.
Between the residency fee, supplies, airfare, and accommodation, this trip will cost me $6,000 USD. I have been awarded 2 different grants from UConn (totaling $2,000 USD) and to help cover the remaining $4,000, I have stocked up my store with original prints (on paper and t-shirts)!
I am asking for your support through a purchase, sharing my website, or donation—for which I will thank you with a surprise print or 3!
